As a resident student, you can stream Xfinity cable channels and on-demand content with the Xfinity Stream app on your Smart TV, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, and more.*
Caution: We strongly recommend you not sign up for Xfinity or Peacock offers, or purchase additional channels, packages, or features, from your YCP account. If you do, you will be billed for time when you are off campus and cannot access the content, then continually after you graduate.
If your TV is not supported, you can connect it (or any external monitor) to either your computer or a streaming device (Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, and more).
Note: You may need an adapter to connect your computer to your TV. HDMI (and additional) cables are available at the York College Spartan Store. If you connect your computer to your TV but do not see anything, make sure you're on the correct input. If you're on Windows, try Windows logo key ⊞ + P to duplicate your display.

Connect with a coaxial cable
Note: This method is not available in all residence locations and may soon be further reduced. Please use the Stream Xfinity options, above, instead.
Your TV needs a QAM tuner to receive channels via coaxial cable. Some smart TVs do not require a coaxial cable (so do not need a QAM tuner). Also, neither a tuner nor a coax cable are required if you connect your computer to your TV.
-
Connect a coaxial cable to the RF IN jack, on the back of your TV, and to the similar looking jack on the wall.
-
Verify that the TV is on the television input; you can change/check this with the input button on your remote.
-
Scan for channels. The order and terminology of these steps may vary depending on your TV.
-
Still not working? See the Check your TV for QAM section, below.
-
Or, see the Stream Xfinity section, above, for other options.
-
Check your TV's Owner's Manual for "QAM".
-
If you do not have a copy of your owner's manual, you can...
If QAM is listed
But you are still having issues, please follow the Connect & scan instructions, above, again.
If QAM is not listed
See the Stream Xfinity section, above, for other options.
* You'll only have Xfinity access while actively living on campus and not during breaks.
