Parent Proxy

Parent Proxy allows students to grant their parents (or anyone else they would like) access to items such as student grades, tax documents, deposit processing and eBill payments.*


Setup

Step 1: Student 

(Students must first set up access, then their proxies can complete the process.)

  • Access Proxy Management

    1. Sign into my.ycp.edu.

    2. Select the YCPWeb icon.

    3. Go to the Personal Information Tab

    4. Select *NEW* My Profile

    5. Select Proxy Management

  • Add a Proxy

    1. Click the "Add New" link in the right-hand corner

    2. Complete ALL fields in the Profile Section

      • Note: Be sure to select the "Parent or Legal Guardian" under the "Select a Relationship" section.

      • Note: Ensure proper spelling of the email address. This will be the account used by your proxy to gain access.

        • We have noticed that Comcast emails seem to experience recurring issues with receiving emails from the Parent Proxy system.  This seems to be due to firewall rules that Comcast has in place.  Our recommendation is to not use a Comcast email address and use an alternative email account.

      • Note: You may adjust the Start and Stop dates to your preference. Be sure the Stop date is later than your estimated graduation date.

    3. Assign Authorizations in the Additional Information Section

      • Select each box beside the items that you want your proxy to access to.

        • Note: You must select at least 1 option.

    4. Click Submit

      • Your Proxy will now receive an email and allow them to complete Step 2.

NOTE: Once a Proxy has been added, it will appear on your dashboard under the student “My Profile” page. You may edit or delete the proxy at any time if needed.

 

Step 2: Parents 

(Parents must complete this step after the students have completed Step 1.)

  1. Find the YCPweb for Parents Email

    1. Navigate to your personal Email Account

      • Note: This must be the same email account that your student added in Step 1.

    2. Open the email from ycpweb@ycp.edu

      • With the subject: YCPWeb for Parents - New Account Created

    3. Copy the Initial Password 

    4. Open the Initial Login URL 

      • Note: This is a unique URL and will only work with the initial password from the same email. 

    5. Enter the Initial Password

    6. Select Submit

  • Reset your Security Password

    1. You will be redirected to the Reset Security Password page for the Proxy Access.

      • Note: Your Email address is the email address that you received the New Account Created email. 

    2. Select Submit

      1. You will be redirected to the YCPWeb Proxy for Parents login page

  • Log into the Proxy for Parents

    • Username = <Your Email Address>

    • Password = <New Password you just created>

  • Complete Proxy Personal Information

    1. After signing in, complete ALL required fields in the Proxy Personal Information

      • Note: ALL required fields must have an entry for the system to progress you to the next Stage. 

    2. Click Submit.

  • Access Information for your student

    1. Navigate to the section with your student's name

      • Note: if you have multiple students with YCP and each student configures your access with the same email account, you will see multiple sections. Each section named for each student. 

    2. Navigate to the “Select to view” dropdown 

      • Note: If no items are visible, your student has not applied any Authorizations for you to access in Step 1.

    3. Choose which item you wish to view

      • You will then be redirected to that specific viewable item. 

      • Note: Warning Grades are not available to proxies for up to a week after the faculty submission deadline.

Step 3: Parent ​​​​​​​

  • Prepare for Future Visits

    1. Save or Create a Bookmark: www.ycp.edu/parents

      • Sign in using the same email address and password created in Step 2.


 

Parent Proxy: Issues

  • Parent Forgot Password

    1. Visit www.ycp.edu/parents

    2. Enter your email address as the Username

    3. Select Forgot Password

      1. Two emails will be generated to email will be sent to your email address. 

      2. Select Close to return to the login page.

    4. Navigate to your personal email account

    5. Locate the two emails needed to reset the Password

      • Email subject: YCPweb Proxy for Parents - Pin Reset 

      • Email subject: Proxy password reset confirmation

    6. In the YCPweb Proxy for Parents - Pin Reset  = Copy the Initial password

      • Note: this will be displayed between ( )

    7. In the Proxy password reset confirmation = Click the reset link

    8. Complete the fields on the Reset Security Password page for the Proxy Access.
