Body
Software Center is on all YCP Windows computers and should be able to be accessed by any person with YCP Staff/Faculty credentials. Software Center is used to update and/or install any application that is approved by LTS.
Note: Software seen on Software Center will vary from person to person depending on your set groups.
Accessing Software Center
Directly from the Windows search bar
- Located to the right of the Windows icon on the bottom left of your screen
- Click on the search bar
- Type "Software Center" into the search bar
- It should appear under "best match" as you type it in
- Either click "Enter" on the keyboard or use your mouse to click on the application to open it
From the "Windows" key on the keyboard
- Located at the bottom of your keyboard in between the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys
- Click the "Windows" key
- This should pull up the Windows search function on your screen
- Type "Software Center"
- It should appear under "best match" as you type it in
- Either click "Enter" on the keyboard or use your mouse to click on the application to open it
Navigating Software Center
When you open Software Center, it should automatically take you to the "Applications" Tab. This is where you would find all applications available to you.
Searching for an application
- Located at the top right, there is a search function
- Click on the search bar
- Type in the application that you are looking for and hit enter
Located on the right side of the application and under the "Operating Systems" tab. The "Installation Status" contains the status of any applications or operating systems.
Installing applications
- While on the "Applications" tab
- Click on the application of your choice
- Click the "Install" button
